How to use berley (chum)
How does berley work?
- Fish are attracted to the smell of the berley as it is carried on the currents or tides under the water's surface.
- Fish swim up into the current/tide in the direction of the berley
- Berley pot works best if lowered to the bottom and allow another metre of extra line then fasten to the boat.
- When loose berley is being used, scatter around the stern of the boat for best effect.
